Dokhid
Income, taxes and invoices for Ukrainian sole proprietors on Mac
The challenge
Hundreds of thousands of freelancers, designers, developers and small shop owners in Ukraine work as sole proprietors — a simplified tax status known as ФОП, with a single tax and a social contribution. The rules are friendly; the paperwork isn’t. You need to record every payment, convert foreign-currency income at the official rate on the day it arrives, keep an eye on the yearly income limit for your tax group, pay on time and file declarations.
Most people we know did it with a spreadsheet and a calendar reminder — and still worried they’d missed something. We were among them.
What we did
- An income log that fills itself from bank statements; foreign-currency payments are converted at the National Bank rate on the date of receipt
- A clear overview: how much you’ve earned this year, how much to set aside for taxes and how close you are to your group’s income limit
- Reminders about single tax and social contribution payments and declaration deadlines, with the amounts already calculated
- Invoices and certificates of completed work in Ukrainian and English, created in a couple of clicks from a client card
- Reports for any period, ready to hand to an accountant or to use for your declaration
- Your data stays on your Mac and syncs privately through your own iCloud
The result
- Monthly bookkeeping takes about 15 minutes instead of an evening — 90% less time
- Beta users have not missed a single tax deadline since switching
- 2,000+ sole proprietors use Dokhid every month
- An average rating of 4.8 in the Mac App Store
We built Dokhid for our own sole proprietorship first. It’s the app we wished existed: calm, private and in Ukrainian — so your time goes into work, not paperwork.
